Welcome to my first ever Fanart Friday post for The Rifter. I'm going to feature one amazing fanartist from the fandom on Fridays until I run out of people. So everyone go make some fanart and tag me so I can post about you too.
Today's featured artist is the lovely and sweet
nautilus_deepblue. You can find most of their artwork on Tumblr at their art blog: nautilus-deepblue-artblog.
They do really amazing portraits of the Rifter characters. I like this series of
Ravishan / Jath'ibaye / Loshai - I especially like the unique depiction of the Fai'daum tattoo for John and Ravishan.
And this really lovely Samsango
And this absolutely gorgeous Laurie
And Jath'ibaye at the Bell Dance
But one of my absolute favorite things about their artwork is how they depict the Gray Space. Fantasy magical concepts like that seem like they would be so tricky to visualize but Nautilus-Deepblue's artwork makes the Gray Space feel tangible and weighty even in 2-dimensional form. My favorite example is this artwork of Ravishan. Look how cool it looks where his hand wraps around the opening to the Gray Space!
Check out all their artwork at their tumblr. You can see more Rifter art at the tags #the rifter series and #ginn hale and they have lots of beautiful non-Rifter art as well.
